Abstract
Few treatment options are available for infertile couples diagnosed with male factor infertility. Intrauterine insemination with husband's sperm is one possible alternative for these patients. Considerable controversy exists as to the effectiveness of intrauterine insemination for male factor infertility, especially with the accessibility of assisted reproductive technologies. This article presents an overview of this controversial subject and a review of the literature. In addition, the current trend of using controlled ovarian hyperstimulation combined with intrauterine insemination for male factor infertility is examined.
