Abstract

The development of a DDD temporary pacemaker has increased the feasibility of atrial synchronous ventricular pacing in the postoperative patient. A significant improvement in the early postoperative hemodynamics has been observed when using atrial synchronous ventricular pacing (DDD effectively operating as atrially triggered ventricular pacing) as compared with DVI in 3 pediatric patients with surgical complete heart block.
