Abstract
We have recently developed and extensively evaluated a 'hot spot' myocardial imaging technique technetium-99m stannous pyrophosphate ((99m)Tc-PYP) for these purposes. This radionuclide myocardial imaging approach has been evaluated both in experimental animals and in patients at our institution over the past four years to test its ability to document the presence or absence of acute myocardial necrosis.
