N2 - Using the Wescor 5520 Vapro vapor pressure osmometer, tears of various contact lens (CL) groups were compared to those of a non-CL wearing population. A total of 38 subjects were placed into 4 groups: non-CL (NCL), hydrogel (HCL), silicone hydrogel (SHCL), and rigid gas permeable (RGP) wearers. Although all CL groups showed higher osmolality than the NCL group, no statistically significant difference in osmolality was found.
