Abstract

While proof of estrogen's benefits for menopausal women is readily available, fears about cancer remain and some women refuse this treatment. Phytoestrogens, soy-based proteins, may become an acceptable alternative in the future, but for now the authors advise that they be used with caution due to the lack of data surrounding them.
