Abstract

Neck masses are a common presenting complaint for children in the emergency department. A detailed history and physical examination usually leads to a preliminary diagnosis. Imaging can sometimes assist in differentiating the type and extent of the lesion. This review will focus on congenital and inflammatory lesions, which make up the vast majority of neck masses in the pediatric population.
