Abstract

Male and female orgasmic disorders are defined as a persistent or recurrent delay in, markedly reduced intensity, or absence of orgasm during a sexual experience. Women’s orgasm is achieved by erotic stimulation of either genital, non-genital sites, or both. In the female brain, multiple areas are responsible for integration and regulation of orgasm. Male orgasmic disorders and ejaculation dysfunction are used interchangeably and they include premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia, and post orgasmic illness syndrome. Treatment approaches for both female and male orgasmic disorders should combine both psychological and pharmacological intervention.
