Open-configuration MR imaging systems provide new possibilities for diagnosis and treatment of conditions in the urinary tract. Flexible patient positioning facilitates urodynamic imaging, and open access permits surgery or minimally invasive procedures to be performed with the patient in the MR scanner. Integrated, interactive navigational tools facilitate MR imaging- guided interventions, and MR imaging may ultimately be used to monitor and control thermal ablation therapy.
