Abstract
Quantitative ultrasonic tissue characterization of myocardium with integrated backscatter is regarded as potential effective detection method to evaluate myocardial ischemia. The purpose of this study is to introduce a new method (the CVIB is used as imaging factor), which manifests the ischemia degree of the myocardial large region. In animal experiments, normal myocardium and acute ischemic myocardium of adult dogs were compared with each other by using this technology. Experiment results indicate that 2-D CVIB image can directly and quantitatively display myocardial ischemia degree, and provide a potential useful tool for clinic application.
