Persistent severe left ventricular dysfunction during extracorporeal memorane oxygenation (ECMO) requires left heart decompression. We describe stenting of the atrial septum as an alternative emergency approach for left heart decompression during ECMO in addition to the already published surgical and transcatheter approaches.
