Abstract
The quantification of fracture healing is important for the identification of non unions and as a guide for the allowance of weight bearing and the removal of orthotic supports. This study shows that a number of variables affect the resulting measurements of resonant frequency, including instrument location, soft tissue damping and muscle tension.
