Abstract
Critically poisoned patients pose significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Their evaluation and treatment are facilitated by the correct identification of toxidromes and appropriate use of laboratory testing. This chapter discusses a general approach to poisoned patients, including the use of antidotes and decontamination techniques. It also provides more detailed instructions on the management of acetaminophen and salicylate toxicities.
