title = "Evidenced-based approach to abdominoplasty update",
abstract = "The following publication was compiled as an evidence-based update for plastic surgeons performing abdominoplasty from a review of the published literature on that subject between January 2014 and February 2017. It is an overview of various aspects of abdominoplasty including preoperative patient assessment, variations and advances in both surgical and anesthetic technique, patient safety, and outcomes. It is intended to serve as an adjunct to previously published evidence-based reviews of abdominoplasty.",

note = "Funding Information: The Multicenter Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Study, funded by the Plastic Surgery Foundation, was carried out in 2009 to 2010 to study the efficacy of chemopro-hylaxis in plastic surgery patients. Enrollment was 3334 patients. There were 1876 controls who underwent similar procedures at an earlier time (historic controls from 2006-2008) who were not treated. All 1458 patients in treatment group with Caprini scores ≥3 received enoxaparin in a dose of either 40 mg QD or 30 mg BID. The results showed a notable risk reduction of VTE in patients with Caprini scores ≥7.44 Publisher Copyright: {\textcopyright} 2019 The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Inc.",
