Abstract
Infusion of prostaglandin E2 (1 ug/kg/min) in six normal dogs elicited a greater than two-fold rise in pancreaticoduodenal vein somatostatin-like immunoreactivity. Insulin and glucagon also rose. The results raise the possibility that the function of the canine pancreatic D-cell is under prostaglandinergic influence.
