Abstract
Increased concentration of (99m)Tc diphosphonate was seen in the breast tissue of 5 patients undergoing bone scans. In one patient, the radiopharmaceutical localized in an advanced primary breast tumor whereas in the other 4, concentration was in normal breast tissue. Accumulation of (99m)Tc diphosphonate in breast tissue does not indicate breast cancer.
