N2 - Independent risk factors for new coronary events were prior myocardial infarction, valvular aortic stenosis, male gender, and increasing age in patients with aortic stenosis. In older persons with moderate or severe valvular aortic stenosis, congestive heart failure, syncope, or angina pectoris was present in 101 of 114 persons (89%) with new coronary events and in 1 of 22 persons (5%) without new coronary events (p <0.0001).
