Abstract

Traditionally two-thirds of mucoceles occur in the frontal sinuses and one-third in the ethmoidal sinuses. According to most authors, maxillary antral mucoceles are extremely rare, however, a relatively high incidence (10 per cent) has recently been reported. We present a case of a giant antral mucocele with resultant facial asymmetry. Computed tomography (CT) was invaluable in delineating the extent of the disease and aiding in the pre-operative diagnosis.
