Abstract

To the Editor: Thirty-seven years ago Norman Barrett wrote a paper in the British Journal of Surgery¹ describing the condition now referred to by an eponym using his name. It seems strange that in a collective review published in the Journal (Aug. 7 issue),² Spechler and Goyal failed to mention that paper, although they cited 104 references.
