Abstract
Air Carriers are closely regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Civil Aeronautics Board. The FAA maintains safety standards and the CAB provides economic controls. This applies for all parts of operation, including Air Freight. All packaging and handling specifications for radioactive materials are developed for Air Carriers by AEC and DOT. This article describes steps taken by Delta Air Lines for safe transportation of radioactive materials.
