N2 - Periprocedural or perioperative anaphylaxis is rare, with an estimated incidence of 1 in 10,000 to 40,000 sedation cases. During such procedures, patients are often exposed to numerous medications, such as antimicrobials, neuromuscular blocking agents, sedative and/or hypnotics, and opioids. The most commonly implicated agents include antibiotics (in the United States) and neuromuscular blocking agents (in Europe). In this article, we explore the differential diagnosis and laboratory investigation of a case of periprocedural anaphylaxis.
