Abstract

Tracheomalacia is the most common congenital disorder of the trachea and involves abnormal collapse of the tracheal walls leading to acute or chronic airway obstruction. Severity of symptomatology can vary greatly, and care ranges from supportive with expectant management to acute surgical intervention. In this chapter we discuss the etiology, presentation, diagnosis, and management of this condition in the neonatal population.
