Abstract
Proponents of Morgellons disease define it as illness in which thread-like fibers under the skin cause crawling sensations, skin changes, fatigue, pain, and "brain fog." The term is not widely accepted by the medical community; it is mostly believed that it is a form of delusional infestation or somatic symptom disorder. In this chapter, we discuss the history of and current debate surrounding this highly controversial topic.
