Abstract

Validation, management, and structuring of data are key components of any high throughput experimental workflow. To meet these needs for a complex multi-institutional biological project (the Alliance for Cellular Signaling), we have developed an extensive and robust laboratory information management system. The workflow in the laboratory begins with cell preparation and purification and ends with RNA transcript analysis, and phosphoprotein western blots or proteomic experiments. The software design of our system is generic, modular, and extensible.
