Abstract

To further define the metabolism of CsA, we studied the biotransformation of the drug in male and female rats using high-pressure liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analysis of CsA and primary CsA metabolites in whole blood. Moreover, we characterized the metabolism of Csa following administration of a known hepatic mixed function oxidase inducer, phenobarbital, and a commonly used, clinically relevant immunosuppressive agent, methylprednisolone.
