Abstract

While many intracranial aneurysms are candidates for endovascular therapy, mastery of the entire cerebrovascular spectrum requires an understanding of the principles of surgical clipping. Clipping of an intracranial aneurysm is not an individual task but the culmination of surgical approach and microsurgical dissection that results in an understanding and preservation of complex microvascular structures. This chapter will address these components with augmentation through intraoperative images and biomedical illustrations.
