N2 - Surgical treatment of mechanical trigeminal nerve injuries resulting in neuropathic pain varies with the type of injury (i.e., amputation or compression), presence of painful neuromas, and adjacent hard/soft tissues. Microsurgical principles that include access, preparation, and repair of the various nerve injuries are recommended for surgical treatment. The choice of surgical repair depends on the microscopic pathology and the presence or absence of adequate distal nerve tissue.
