Abstract

The magnetic moments of PrFe10.5V1.5 and PrFe10.5V1.5Nx have been studied by neutron diffraction measurements and 57Fe Moessbauer spectra measurements. Neutron diffraction refinements indicate that the directions of magnetic moments of Pr and Fe atoms change from ab-plane to c-axis and their magnitudes also increase upon nitrogenation. Moessbauer spectra studies show that hyperfine fields and isomer shifts of PrFe10.5V1.5 are strongly enhanced upon nitrogenation.
