Abstract
The blocking of an impulse spreading along the fibre with a septum is considered. The critical values of the resistance of the septum in the absence of preliminary hyperpolarization is found. It is shown that evaluations of critical resistance made as a steady approximation gave considerably over-stated values and therefore have a restricted area of applicability. The amplitudes of the passive responses behind the septum are calculated in relation to the hyperpolarization shift in the potentials. The calculated graphs are in good agreement with the results of measurements.
