Abstract

Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) has been employed in guiding clinical interventional procedures. ICE could also be useful for 3-D anatomical and functional imaging of the heart. In this regard, we developed and tested a method to semi-automatically determine the endocardial boundary in multiple tomographic ICE images. Compared to manual segmentation, we found that semi-automatic segmentation of the endocardial boundary in ICE images was feasible and enabled accurate and efficient reconstruction of 3-D geometry of the heart cavity.
