Abstract

Recent advances in rapid magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques can potentially provide real time data acquisition and display. Focusing on echo-planar imaging (EPI) techniques, the current paper provides an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of implementing uniform and non-uniform image sampling strategies. Special attention is given to the consequences of the selected image sampling strategy on image quality and image throughout related to the processing of the MR signal.
