Abstract
The dipole model of the compact part of the electric double layer is discussed for an arbitrary number of states of the solvent adsorbed on the electrode. The case of a nonequilibrium electric double layer is examined. The variation in electrode potential is discussed which occurs when a temperature jump is applied under coulostatic conditions. The response amplitude is zero in the extrema of orientational entropy of the electric double layer. The results of the calculations are compared with experimental data.
