N2 - Patients with extracranial carotid disease (ECD) have an increased incidence of coronary events.1-3 We are reporting data from a prospective study correlating silent myocardial ischemia detected by 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiography with the incidence of new coronary events at 43-month mean follow-up in elderly patients with 40 to 100% ECD with and without coronary artery disease (CAD).
