N2 - The Kidney Precision Medicine Project will advance understanding of chronic kidney disease attributed to diabetes or hypertension and acute kidney injury through a protocol kidney biopsy used for deep phenotyping with state-of-the-art methodology. To guide scientific inquiry toward clinically meaningful benefit, patients are equal partners for priority setting, study design and conduct, and dissemination of findings. Patients from stakeholder organizations, recruitment sites, tissue interrogation sites, and the Central Hub are represented on the Community Engagement Committee. This unique collaboration between patients and scientists has set a new standard for inclusion in precision medicine research.
