N2 - Aspergillus is a fungus of the Ascomycetes class found in many of the moulds on food, fruit, grain, seed and plants. Its spores, present in dust, enter the respiratory system of man where, under altered physiology of the upper airway, they can become pathogenic. This entity may be found in individuals with depressed immunological responses or in otherwise healthy subjects. Aspergillosis is the most common fungal infection of the sinuses; however, fewer than 115 cases have been described in the world literature, most of which have appeared as case reports (McGuirt and Harrill, 1979). We present a case of extensive unilateral aspergillosis of the paranasal sinuses with orbital involvement. Computed Tomography (CT) was invaluable in delineating the extent of disease and exclusion of intracranial spread.
