note = "Funding Information: Annually, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) meeting offers a 4-hour “Hot Topics” seminar sponsored by ASAPS, the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) and the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF). The event is designed to review innovative procedures and examine emerging trends in cosmetic surgery. On April 21, 2006, in Orlando, the authors, serving as “Hot Topics” moderators, polled seminar participants' responses to new technologies and products by posing some “no-nonsense” questions. Participants responded using the Padgett Communications (Clearwater, FL) interactive keypad system. The total number of respondents varied throughout the 4-hour seminar. Here, we discuss the real-time responses to 11 questions related to barbed sutures, fillers, mesotherapy, and skin tightening modalities. We then discuss other notable “hot topics” presented at the meeting that may have future importance. Copyright: Copyright 2008 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.",
