Abstract

Computed tomography (CT) was used as a non-invasive imaging technique to monitor the drug release and distribution in rat livers. CT was used to provide a quantitative characterization of release of a CT contrast agent, iohexol, in the liver tissues over a period of 24 hours. Results demonstrated the feasibility of CT as a useful imaging tool in the pharmacokinetic studies.
