Abstract
Heating experiments were performed in bovine liver tissue to investigate the ability of interstitial ultrasound transducers to generate a continuous region of thermal coagulation via scanned heating. Results showed that temperature increases sufficient for thermal coagulation could be generated within minutes, and thermal lesions were restricted to the scanning path.
