note = "Funding Information: Earlier this year, the African Stroke Organization (ASO) was established.4 ASO is a pan ? Africa coalition whose mission to reduce the burden of stroke in Africa is woven around four key concepts of research, capacity building, stroke services development, and collaboration and advocacy with stake holders.4 Under the auspices of the ASO, an annual stroke conference scheduled for 2021 is now being planned. This conference is expected to routinely examine gaps in knowledge and help guide priorities for stroke care delivery and acceleration of translational research, while simultaneously building a new generation of African stroke leaders and increasing regional collaboration and research output. The African Stroke Organization Conference (ASOC) 2021 will be supported by financial and in-kind contributions from several local, regional, and international sources including the United States National Institutes of Health (R13NS115395). We are grateful for such interest and largesse.",
