Abstract

The umbrella term, Web 2.0, reflects a significant shift in Web development approaches. At the core of Web 2.0 is the end user. With a concentration on Web 2.0 principles, Web sites have become much more dynamic, user focused, and collaborative. Users are viewed as important participants in the creation, organization, and use of content, and Web sites have increasingly incorporated functionality that encourages and engages their users. Today's electronic journal environment offers many examples of the integration of WEB 2.0 principles.
