Abstract
In this paper the authors review the available literature concerned with elective left ventricular aneurysmectomy in the setting of chronic ischemic heart disease. They compare theoretical models and predictions with the empirical observations made by previous investigators and suggest an approach to the symptomatic patient with a left ventricular aneurysm.
