Some of the more common herpesviruses, human herpesvirus types 1, 2, and 6; varicella zoster virus; Epstein-Barr virus; and cytomegalovirus, are discussed. Discussions include the incidence, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, histopathology, and differential diagnosis of these herpesviruses. Treatment options are also reviewed.
