Abstract

In a continuing effort to create inexpensive alternatives to the current medical image display technology, the authors have developed a teleradiology system based on standard PC hardware. The system allows for the viewing of selected studies and performs a wide variety of visual image enhancements which include interactive contrast modification, animation of time-domain studies, on-screen quantitative data measurements, and instant zoom. The system also allows remote access to image databases at imaging centers using standard high-speed modems.
