Abstract

The Virtual Basic Laparoscopic Skill Trainer (VBLaST ™) is a virtual-reality alternative for the Foundations of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) trainer system. In this work we present the results from our face validation expriments for the VBLaST. We have shown that the VBLaST simulator has excellent face validity in portraying the FLS tasks as well as interface and movements of the tool.
