Abstract
Long chain fatty acids are the principal lipid energy source in cellular oxidation and are absorbed particularly well by the myocardium. The authors demonstrate a favorable distribution of 131I labeled oleic acid following intravenous administration in rabbits, as well as successful myocardial imaging in dogs before and after experimental coronary embolization with metallic Hg.
