Abstract

After the description of a case report of a 56-yr-old white man with a lung carcinoma and ectopic ACTH production, the clinical implications of ectopic production of fetal protein and hormones by tumor cells are discussed. The regulation of synthesis, gene expression, and cellular differentiation are discussed also.
