Abstract
Ipsilateral ventral root reflexes evoked from electrical stimulation of the sural nerve were studied in an attempt to determine if the C or unmyelinated afferent fibers give rise to motor reflex responses because uncertainties in this area have persisted. Appropriate blocking techniques were utilized to isolate C fiber afferent barrages. Evidence was produced that a component of ipsilateral ventral root reflexes (including flexor reflexes) can be evoked solely with a C fiber afferent volley.
