Abstract

CD34 is a surface anligen expressed on normal human hematopoietic stem cells, as well as on the blast cells of many patients with both lymphocytic and myelocytic leukemias. By Southern blot analysis of DN A from a panel of human x mouse somatic cell hybrids using a CD34 cDNA probe, we demonstrate that the gene for CD34 is located on human chromosome 1 in the lql2→qter region.
