Abstract
To the Editor: Sonnier et al. (Sept. 8 issue)1 reported finding a chromosomal translocation involving the immunoglobulin kappalight-chain locus on chromosome 2 and the heavy-chain locus on chromosome 14 in a child with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Their observations could certainly be relevant to any B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. However, the authors make the point that a balanced 2p/14q translocation is an unexpected abnormality in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
