Abstract
Transgender individuals account for only 0.5% of adults in the United States; however, up to 1.3% of 18- to 24-year-olds and 1.4% of 13- to 17-year-olds identify as transgender or gender diverse. This chapter will detail the basic aspects of their care and considerations for emergency and primary care providers.
