Abstract

A new imaging technique that can be applied to assess the dynamic formation of the bioprosthetic heart valve (BHV) leaflet under simulated physiological conditions was devised. The resulting technique uses double-pulse stereo photogrammetry (DCSP) with double-pulse illumination. By using the new technique, sequences of retrieved digital images that quantitatively demonstrate the leaflet deformations during the valve opening and closing were obtained.
